Even according to Devi Bhagwat Puran, the Maatrikas including Varahi were created by supreme mother with a promise to Gods that Matrikas will fight the demons whenever needed. In the episode dealing with the destruction of Demon Raktbija, Varahi is depicted as having a boar form fighting the Demons with a Tusk while seated on a Preta (corpse). Goddess Vaarahi is depicted in the form of a boar having a Sword and a Discus for dispelling Evil forces whenever needed. She is considered a great Warrior who paralyses the Enemies, all wicked forces and Evil Energies. Her worshippers are granted with Name, Fame and a very high status in society. She is said to symbolize the great powers of Sri Vidya (Knowledge of Yogas, Rituals and Devotional services) and leads the devotees ultimately to Sri Vidyas. Goddess Varahi represents the New Moon and the bright aspect of Mother Goddess.
