What it is
Hindu families still fix a wedding, a house entry, a vehicle purchase, a child name, a first haircut, and a property deal by the panchang rather than by a blank Sunday. A shubh muhurat is a civil day, plus a clock window on that day, when the tithi, nakshatra, weekday, and yoga all sit on the allowed list for that work. This hub opens six such lists. Each list is calculated for the city you choose, and Mumbai is loaded first.
The pages use the same Drik sunrise as the daily panchang. Dates are not stored as a printed table inside the program. The allowed factors live in a rule file, and the sky is read from the ephemeris for the year you open. When a rule fails for part of the afternoon, only those hours drop out. The rest of the day can still show a window if the other factors hold.
Which rules are applied
Every activity here allows Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, and Trayodashi, in either paksha. Amavasya is refused on its own, even when another factor looks gentle. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are the weekdays in this version. Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday stay off the list so the shortlist remains with the days classical practice treats as the safer set.
The nakshatra list changes with the work. A wedding leans on stars such as Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Hasta, and Revati. House entry and property purchase also use Punarvasu and Pushya. Nine harsh yogas are refused, and the other eighteen can support a window. Shared blocks also apply: Kharmas while the Sun is in Dhanu or Meena, Adhik maas, Bhadra, Rahu Kaal, and the combustion of Guru and Shukra.
How to use the list
Open one activity and pick the year. The month filter lets you scan a single month or the whole calendar. Each row shows the date, the weekday, the tithi, the nakshatra, and the clock windows. Open the reason line to see which factors matched and which blocks were checked and found clear inside those windows. Windows shorter than fifteen minutes are omitted so a tiny gap is not presented as a usable hour.
Use the list to narrow a season before you book a hall, a mover, or a priest. It is a city calendar, not a reading of two birth charts. If the ceremony is outside Mumbai, change the city so sunrise and Rahu Kaal follow that place. A different latitude moves the clock even when the tithi name stays the same.
What this list does not decide
Chaturmas blocks weddings only, from Devshayani through Dev Uthani, because that is how the festival calendar marks the months when Vishnu is said to rest. Panchak blocks house entry and vehicle purchase, not a name giving or a property signature. Lagna shuddhi, the check of the rising sign at the exact minute, is not applied to the wedding list in this version. A personal muhurat still needs it.
Treat every row as a general classical filter. The final hour should consider both kundlis, the family priest, and the practical limits of travel. Which city is used if I do not search?
Mumbai is the default. Choose another city if the ceremony is elsewhere, because sunrise and Rahu Kaal depend on the place.
Why is a whole month empty for weddings?
Chaturmas, Kharmas, or a long Guru or Shukra asta can remove every wedding day in that stretch. The other activities may still show dates.
Does this replace a family priest?
No. The list applies shared classical rules. A final muhurat should read both kundlis and the rising sign at the minute you choose.
Are night hours included?
No. Windows run from sunrise to sunset. Night work needs a separate judgment and is not listed here.
