Griha pravesh is the first formal entry into a house the family will live in. People boil milk, light a lamp, and carry the images they worship. The muhurat is the hour chosen for that crossing of the threshold, not the hour the movers finish the boxes. This page lists daytime windows when the panchang factors used for house entry agree.
The default city is Mumbai. Change it if the house is in another town, because Rahu Kaal and sunrise belong to the door you will walk through, not to the city on your old lease. The list is a year view with a month filter, so you can line the entry up with possession, painting, and the school term.
Which rules are applied
House entry uses the same gentle tithis as the other lists: Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, and Trayodashi. Weekdays are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Nakshatras lean to the fixed and friendly stars, including Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, and the Uttara group. A harsh yoga blocks the hour even if the star is right.
Panchak is an extra block for griha pravesh. It is the Moon stretch from the second half of Dhanishta through the end of Revati. A star that is otherwise welcome, such as Revati, still will not produce a window while Panchak is running. Kharmas, Adhik maas, Bhadra, Rahu Kaal, Amavasya, and the asta of Guru and Shukra are checked too. Chaturmas is not applied to house entry.
How to use the list
Match the window to possession. There is little value in a beautiful Thursday if the keys arrive on Friday night. A long afternoon window gives the family time to enter, sit, and eat without rushing the lamp. If the row shows two windows, the break between them is a block such as Rahu Kaal, so do not schedule the threshold crossing inside the gap.
Read the expandable reason before you message relatives. It names the tithi, the nakshatra, and the yoga that made the hour shubh, and it lists the blocks that were checked. If you are only signing papers and will enter later, use the property purchase list as well and keep the actual entry on a griha pravesh day.
Walk the empty rooms a day earlier when you can, so the entry hour is not spent hunting for a key or a dark stair. The muhurat is for the crossing, the lamp, and the first sitting. Is Chaturmas closed for griha pravesh?
No. Chaturmas is applied to vivah on this site. House entry is still blocked by Kharmas, Panchak, and the other shared exclusions.
Why does Dhanishta appear only sometimes?
Panchak begins in the second half of Dhanishta. The earlier part of that star can still support a window. The later part cannot.
Can I enter at night if the day was busy?
This list stops at sunset. A night entry needs its own judgment and is not shown as a shubh window here.
Does painting the flat need the same day?
No. The muhurat is for the ceremonial entry. Repair work can follow a practical schedule unless your priest asks otherwise.
