What it is

Vivah muhurat is the wedding time families ask for before they print cards or hold a hall. It is not every pleasant evening. The day has to carry a supportive tithi, a supportive nakshatra, a weekday from the safer set, and a yoga that is not among the harsh nine. This page walks a full year and keeps only the hours when those pieces overlap.

Mumbai sunrise is the starting point, and the city field changes the clock for any other place. The calculation follows the Drik day used elsewhere on this site. You will see one or more windows, not a single magic minute. A gap in the middle usually means Rahu Kaal or Bhadra cut the afternoon, while the morning or the late day still qualified.

Which rules are applied

The tithi names allowed for a wedding here are Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, and Trayodashi. Both the bright and the dark paksha can qualify under those names. Amavasya never does. The weekday must be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Stars used for vivah include Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Shravana, and Revati, along with the two Uttara stars of the later signs.

Chaturmas is applied only to weddings. It runs from Devshayani Ekadashi through Dev Uthani Ekadashi, taken from the festival engine rather than from a fixed English date. Kharmas removes days while the Sun travels Dhanu or Meena. Guru asta and Shukra asta remove hours when Jupiter or Venus is combust. Adhik maas, Bhadra, and Rahu Kaal are checked as well.

How to use the list

Filter by month when you already know the season the families can travel. November and December often look thin because Chaturmas ends only at Dev Uthani and Kharmas begins again when the Sun enters Dhanu. A Thursday with a wide morning window is easier for guests than a one hour slot near sunset. Read the reason line before you circulate the date, so everyone sees the tithi and the star, not only the weekday.

If two windows appear, either one satisfies the shared rules. The later window is not automatically better. What the list cannot see is the couple. Work, exams, a mourning period, and the venue contract still decide whether a classically clean day is the day you should use.

Count the guests who must travel before you lock a one hour window near sunset. A morning stretch is kinder when elders need daylight to reach the hall. If the month filter shows only one row, read it twice and still ask for a personal check before you pay the venue.

What this list does not decide

Lagna shuddhi is not applied on this wedding list. That check asks whether the rising sign at the chosen minute suits the couple, and it needs both birth times. Version one of this finder stops at tithi, nakshatra, weekday, yoga, and the blocks named above. Do not treat a green row as permission to skip that rising sign check.
